ISLAND GIRL® ELIXIR™
"TIME IN  A BOTTLE"
MORE THAN 6 PRODUCTS IN ONE - AVAILABLE APRIL 2006!
As Seen at Oakland Sailboat Show, April 19th-23rd 2006

SINGLE STEP OXIDATION REMOVER/INHIBITOR, UV BLOCKER COLOR ILLUMINATOR & SURFACE SEALANT & WAX

WHY DID WE DEVELOP THIS PRODUCT AND WHAT ARE IT'S ADVANTAGES?  There were  three main reasons....

FIRST,
on our own Gulf 32 Sailboat in Hawaii, we observed that the protection (water beading) and shine on the gelcoat was lasting over two years on white gelcoat, the dark green stripe kept needing "touch up" . In fact the stripe gets so hot you cannot touch it on a sunny afternoon so it's soaking up a lot of heat and UV!  So - we wanted something that would last on dark green, red, black, dark blue and other sensitive colors.

SECOND,
Some customers needed a SIMPLER PROCESS!!  Our existing "3-Step" Process for gelcoat (SEA GLOW™ Cleanser/Conditioner, then SILKENSEAL™  Sealant, then  SIMPLY BRILLIANT  Superwax™ works much better than regular waxes or wipe on acrylics but sounded too complicated for some prospective customers.  Also some users did not allow the SILKENSEAL™ to dry (although we thought that this was obvious!) before application of the SB Superwax™ (to be fair, under VERY humid conditions,  water based SILKENSEAL™ can be very slow to dry).

THIRD,
Time is money..... People will pay for a product that is very expensive to manufacture if they can do their trailer boat in about an hour or a large " in the water" boat in 2-3 hours, without yard fees, buying buffers etc - especially if the results can last a year or more.

FOURTH, The surprise element!  Turns out that our new "Gelcoat Elixir" was easy and great to use on vinyl fenders, vents and other plastic/rubber  materials while providing a "one step" repaint of faded auto paintwork! So...before getting the labels printed we changed its name to ISLAND GIRL® ELIXIR™.

FIFTH, works with other members of  ISLAND GIRL®'s  Synergistic System™ as an extra OR substitution.  On OLDER BOATS,  our "3-Step System" is still the best approach (deep cleaning, oxidation removal and conditioning of gelcoat)  but an additional 4 Oz bottle of
IG ELIXIR™ can be used to provide extra protection against UV on dark colored stripes or a 12 Oz bottle for the entire hull of red boats, green boats etc. This is prior to the SB Superwax™ and/or MH Superglaze™ outer coat(s) of protection.

For boats in new or good condition,   a  12 Oz bottle of ELIXIR™  can be used to completely do over a 20-25 foot boat of any color, without other members of the system  However, for EXTRA  depth of shine and  a STAIN-PROOF protection, an single outer coat of our
MIRROR HARD Superglaze™ is a good idea. This will be part of our new "HAWAIIAN TWO STEP™" System.

The above pictures show the dark green gelcoat stripe on a Gulf 32 in Honolulu, Hawaii.  The gelcoat was treated with the full ISLAND GIRL SYSTEM in February 2004, almost 2 years previously.  Although the white gelcoat is remains in good condition, the dark green stripe has had to be "touched up" every 4-6 months to restore original color and depth of shine.  Pictures taken approximately 6 months after last touch up (MIRROR HARD Superglaze™).  The gelcoat was begining to dull and chalk again.  About 3 months previously, a small stripe was treated with ISLAND GIRL® ELIXIR™ before the outer coating of MIRROR HARD Superglaze™.  A slightly wider stripe to its right was treated with 303™ protectant only. Pictures (above) show the persistant color depth and gloss with the ISLAND GIRL®  ELIXIR™ before and after rinsing with water. Also great for rejuvenation/protection of paintwork, many other plastics, rubber and more. SEE "HOW TO USE"VIDEO SEE VIDEO AD!
